Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) - Pistons guard Chauncey Billups missed Game 5 of Detroit's Eastern Conference semifinal series with the Orlando Magic on Tuesday with a strained right hamstring.
The Pistons won the game, 91-86, advancing to the Eastern Conference finals for a sixth straight year. The Pistons, who won the semifinal series by a 4-1 margin, will face either Boston or Cleveland in the next round. The Celtics and Cavaliers are even with Game 5 scheduled for Wednesday in Boston.
Rodney Stuckey, Billups' replacement, had 15 points and six assists in Tuesday's game.
Billups was hurt with 8:11 left in the opening quarter of Game 3's 111-86 loss last Wednesday. He tried driving from the right side to the hoop, knocking down Orlando's Jameer Nelson. Billups' leg got tangled with Nelson, and as he fell Billups did a mini-split. Billups then remained on his stomach for a few moments.
The same injury caused the guard to sit out Game 4 on Saturday, a come-from- behind 90-89 victory for Detroit.
